Splashtop vs HopToDesk

Splashtop is a remote desktop software solution that was originally developed for consumers who wanted to access their home computers remotely from a different location. It quickly gained popularity due to its ease of use, fast performance, and affordability.

Where HopToDesk fits

Splashtop sells remote access as a subscription per user or per computer. HopToDesk keeps the remote session free and charges for the Dashboard, so the cost scales with how much fleet management you want rather than with how many people need to connect.

Switching from Splashtop

  1. Install the free client on the machines you support. Portable mode means no commitment to test it.
  2. Start a free Dashboard account, add three devices, and check the monitoring and ticket views against your own machines.
  3. Deploy at scale with GPO, Intune, SCCM, Jamf or Ansible, or with a branded client.
  4. Add your team, set roles, and connect SSO from the Dashboard.

On the Business plan you can also import the device list exported from your current tool. Each imported group becomes a deployment with its own enroll link, and the Dashboard checks off each machine as it enrolls, so you always know what is left to move. Read the migration guide
